Gib Arnold New Hawaii Basketball Coach
Gib Arnold was introduced yesterday as the new men’s basketball coach at the University Of Hawaii.
He said “It’s not every day a dream can come true … I am thrilled, excited, humbled and grateful for the opportunity”.
He certainly has the experience to get the job done. He is a terrific recruiter and as an assistant at USC recruited players to get drafted in the NBA in the first round. He has 3 years experience as a head coach and several years of coaching as an assistant.
He also played High School basketball at Honolulu. You can read more in a very good article at SFExaminer.com.
My March Madness bracket is pretty much shot. Kansas saw to that last night. As far as I know Hawaii has never played in a Final Four Tournament.

Not everyone wants to lay on the beach when they vacation in Maui. For a little more adventerous and rugged activities check out the Olivine Pools in West Maui.
The Olivine Pools were named for this semi-precious gem found encrusted in the surrounding lava and sandstone. These naturally-formed swimming pools are located on a lava shelf stretching along the coastline. When the sea is calm, the area is excellent for swimming, wading and sunbathing.
For more things to do in Maui read Maui Revealed. It is the most comprehensive yet easy to use guidebook ever written for Maui. The authors actually hike all the trails, ride the boats, scuba dive the reefs, dine in the restaurants, review all the resorts, snorkel the coastline, explore the hidden waterfalls and share all the secrets that they find.
