Hawaii Hotel Revenue Down In 2009

If you have been thinking about taking a vacation how about considering Hawaii! They could use you and your money.

According to KITV.com statewide hotel revenue dropped $741 million to $3.6 billion in 2009. This is due to a drop in visitors to Hawaii as well as hotels slashing prices to compete on a worldwide trend due to the economy.

Hawaii now has had 21 consecutive months of revenue decline totaling over $1 Billion dollars in hotel revenue losses. Of course this affects businesses in all categories who rely on tourism as their primary source of income.

So how does the future look? Not Good for 2010 according to economists who do not see tourism returning to normal until 2011 t the earliest. OUCH!
