The geographical location and climate of Honolulu has a direct effect to the natural formations and the migration of great whales and dolphins which boom its tourist attraction over the centuries. Waikiki is the most famous district where hotels and beaches are center attractions, Manoa and Maniki serve as the university belt of Hawaii, Palolo and Kaimuki are some of the commercial centers, Waialae and Kahala offers high priced homes, East Honolulu is the home of upper middle class people, Kalihi and Palama are where the working class people are, and the Salt Lake and Aliamanu have more residential homes.
The median income of a single household – CDP in Honolulu is $45,112. Basically families in Honululu are well off. The population consists of White Americans, Black Americans, Asian Americans, African Americans and Hispanics and Latinos.
Truly, Honolulu serves as a shelter for almost all people from the whole world when they need relaxation and break from the daily labor in life. Hawaii has been blessed by the Good God when he created such a beautiful place.

There is no doubt the world wide economy is in a major down cycle.
This will effect Hawaii Toursim according to the Honolulu Star Bulletin.
In an article on New Year’s Day they offer some sobering facts that lead to a prediction of a tough year for Hawaii’s #1 leading industry.
They call 2009 the year of the “naycation,” because the feeling is people are not going to travel to far, if they vacation at all. The cruise industry will be affected and few visitors will come from Japan and Canada as well.
One sign of the poor economy in Hawaii is that bankruptcy cases were up almost 50% in 2008 from 2007. That number is expected to continue in 2009.
Bright spots predicted for 2009 include falling gas prices and Target opening 2 new stores in Oahu which will create about 1200 jobs.
